As has been said above, unfortunately there is no way to transfer music to the NW-E002F and actually have it play on the device without using SonicStage. It's slow as heck and about as user-friendly as a tank of hungry piranhas, but it's the only way to get playable music on the thing. That said, the player's wonderful once you've actually got the music on to it...

No, it doesn't. It gives an error message when you attempt to transfer MP3 files using the VAIO music transfer application, at least on my UK model NW-E002F.
