Ok guys, I take you words. Myself I wouldn't mess with the unit either unless there is no way out. I'll try a few more cycles with the Pisen battery and I'll see what is the next step. The contacts on the unit's battery door seem ok I can't see what is on the bottom. But the Sony battery looks clean so I wouldn't worry about dirty contacts. Thank you for you help will come back with some resutls

Hi, where and how can I do those adjustments on my NF810? What sould be the values? Thank you
-
Ok, how can I readjust my NF810? I suppose I need to download the service manual and then...? Hi Jim, the GP charger is a simple one: does not have a display showing the current but has a LED which goes from red to green when the battery is fully charged. I tried only once the Pisen battery but IMO it should perform better for the first shouldn't it?! I'll trly a few more cycles and come back. Another thing came into my mind: maybe if I leave the battery inside the unit it constantly pulls a very tiny current from the battery? Just a thought... Thank you

Hi all, I've bought a "Pisen" gumstick for my MZ-NF810 because the Sony gumstick didn't hold the charge longer than a single day even if I didn't use it. The unit's charger won't charge the Pisen because of I don't know... So I went for a GP gumstick charger (couldn't find a Pisen charger) but it is almost the same. It won't last longer than three days maybe half an hour use each day. What is going on? Where can I get a working battery? Thank you

I use the Ni-Mh battery inside the main unit. Will clean contacts and come back. Thank you

Hi all, I got an MZ-NF810 unit and I really like it. The only one problem is, that the radio won't turn on. Among all attempts it comes up about 5-10% only. If press the radio button on the remote (after all messages cleared on the display as per the user manual, battery fully charged) the main unit clicks once and I hear some very low volume hiss from the headphones. After 10 secs the unit clicks again and after 10 sec again. That goes on a few times and that's it. When it works, the radio comes on immediately. Has anybody came across anything like that? Thank you

I am sure it is not the tuner. This is an olschool Akai AT-2400 one. The noise is not audable when I am not recording from the tuner. The interconnect cable is a 200 GBP Chord piece 1m. Shorter is better.

Hi MD lovers! I am trying to record jazz sessions form my analogue tuner but there is a periodical hiss noise during recording and playback. MD deck is a Sony MDS-JE500 machine. If I move the deck away from the tuner the noise becomes quiter. If the deck is in the top of the tuner noise is quite audiable. What is this? I can't move the deck too far away the interconnect cable is only a meter long. Why the deck is broadcasting this noise. FM antenna on the tuner is coaxial cable running up into the attic. Thank you Regards

Hi all, after browsing the fleabay for a walkman now I know what I want. I would put a small list here of my preferences if you could tell me which MD Walkman meets with this all. Hopefully I don't want too much -good sound quality (will record with MDS-JE500 deck from analogue tuner and turntable and add later some very good headphones) -FM radio remote -NetMD capable (will transfer mp3 lessons from PC to walkman) -equaliser or bass and treble set -remote backlit (not a must but preferred) Is there a walkman like this existing? Unfortnately I don't have the budget for an MZ-RH1... Thanks

It is the MZ-NF810 walkman. Thank you

Hi, I am just wondering what kind of USB cable is needed between an NetMD Walkman and a PC. The PC end is no quiestion but what about the walkman end? Thank you Regards
-
Thank you for all of your comments folks I am a bit wise now. I think I'll stick to MD because I simply like this format. After compact cassette it was heaven!!! Hopefully a last question: when I transfer my .mp3 files from PC to Atrac can I do it in LP mode to save some space on the disc? P.s.: I use still the good old Win XP

This shouldn't be a problem in my case because what I want to listen on the walkman is not music it is some lessons quality doesn't matter too much. How quick/slow is transferring mp3 files to Atrac in general?
