  1. Thanks for the reply, sfbp. I saw the MD10 and 20, and I like the fact that it has a USB interface, but it has a different Control-A1 connector than I need. Also, I figured that it would be easier to scan the serial interface to figure out the protocol between the PC and the adapter so I can write my own code. Do you think it might be possible to make an adapter to go from the DIN connector on the M10/20 to plug into my receiver? Do they just use the same 5-volt/0-volt pulses with a 600uS timing and a 2400uS start-of-message pulse? Oh, and as for getting a more current receiver, I'm happy with mine. I really don't think I need HD Audio and HDMI switching. I can do the HDMI switching with other means and I really don't think I'll be able to tell the difference between the older digital audio formats and the new ones... especially not in a movie. Plus, I really don't want to spend $1K or more on a new receiver.
  2. Hi! I'm looking for a way to control a Sony AV Receiver using Control-A1 II. I found this site by searching for the Sony "PC interface kit" that is mentioned in my AVR's manual. I believe that this page contains the info for the interface kit. Where can I buy one of these (with the software)? I believe I can use it to send the Control-A1 signals to my AVR. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks, Brian
