  1. Has anyone had any experience or knowledge of the Bosteroo in-line amplifier that I came across looking on the Net yesterday? It's larger than the Sony (4 x 1 x 1 inches approx.) and an extra bit to carry around with you, but if it works it could be one way of increasing the volume (the spec. sheet says by up to 40 percent).
  2. Yes, I am from Europe (UK) and purchased my player here - hence the source of my problem, it would seem. Looking at the thread adjacent to this (Will there be new firmware for the E-005?) it would appear that this is a common gripe though I cannot foresee Sony ever going against EU legislation. Just one thought, though, from someone who is completely non-technical - is the volume limitation feature activated and managed from within the firmware? If so, would it be possible to reload the unit with firmware downloaded from a non-European Sony website, e.g. the USA one, and solve the problem that way?
  3. I've recently purchased an NW-E005 that I use in conjunction with Philips SHN2500 noise cancelling headphones (these fit right inside the ear canals). Although I have the volume on the NW-E005 set to maximum I would still like to get some more. I do have a slight hearing difficulty but not excessively so. Is there any way I can get some more umph? Might it be possible to adjust the player somehow, or perhaps fit some sort of mini-amplifier to the earphone line? Otherwise I'm delighted with the performance of this player. Any advice will be much appreciated.
