Hello everyone.
Sony JA30ES, hi end mini disc deck. Intermittent faults. Insert disc with music on and it indicates faulty disc and ejects. After several tries will eventually play. Try recording to the same disc and it will record, indicate it is updating the TOC then eject the disc. Replay the disc and it will indicate it is blank. Wiping everything on the disc.
I know the discs are not faulty as they play on another deck I have.
Audio engineer has checked the deck and has indicated the optical read and write 'heads' are faulty and require replacement, however the parts required are obsolete.
Help required as this deck is of very high quality and I am reluctant to give up on it yet.
