  1. solve the problem. installed SS from this forum and it ask me to reformat my NW-HD5, then moved the whole lib back into the player. now it's playing all the songs. pete
  2. i'm new to this forum and not sure where to find the answers. i have SonicStage (SS) on my XP machine. this machine has too many things for me to get rid of. so every time the PSU blows out, i just replace it. last time that happened was number of months ago. meanwhile, i tried to upload some music to my NW-HD5 using my son's Win 8 machine. last time this XP machine died, i installed SS on that Win 8 machine. Win 8 machine never had my NW-HD5 attached before, but out of desperation, i hooked up my NW-HD5 to that system few weeks ago to move some old music to my player. at that time, the SS on Win 8 said that my NW-HD5 is auth, but the computer wasn't. i just ignored and moved the music to the NW-HD5. it went over fine, but the music will not play on my HD5. today, i had sometime, so i got a new PSU and replace it on this XP machine which was the only computer the HD5 was on before i tried on Win 8 system. now i'm getting same massage as Win 8 sys. it's saying that HD5 is authorized, but this XP sys is not. is there something i can do to resolve this problem? edit some config files or something to authorize this machine? i tried ipod before, but they just don't sound as good as NW-HD5. and despite what other people say, i actually like SS much better than iTune. much easier to use for me. i don't mind coping music over again, just want to keep on using my NW-HD5. pete
