  1. I have the afoementioned Sony Flash player and I believe it does sleep. However-it a distinction without a difference because it use very very little battery-mille amps- and the battery is very robust. I really like this device a lot. So sleep state is a non-issue.
  2. Hello- I notice the response to your problem is nil. It makes me wonder what people know or don't know. I do not think I have an answer for you except in very general terms and my answer could raise more questions than it resoves. I haveSonic Stage 4.0 on my new computer. I actually was able to transfer all my music -some 300 or so CD's to the new computer. Do not ask me how I did it because I really don't have aclue other than it must have been using the back up program. I recently bought a flash player just like the one you have. My Sonic Stage has always been for use with my Mini disc and so I just plugged the device in to the USB and it recognizes it and I can download music onto the flash device but CANNOT transfer it back. I contacted Sony with their ONLINEhelp. You would have thoughIwas asking a question about atomic physic or microbiology. I got no satisfaction in finding out WHY I could not load MY CD"S , bought and paid for by me, back onto the computer they were download from. The only way I can add music is by deleting something already on the flash player. Which brings me to your problem. All that long winded three paragraphs was about was to tell you I did NOT encxounter the problems you have had. A new computer should not be SLOW under any circumstances and it is doubtful Sonic Stage caused the problem. The truth is-even taking it to the gru of grus of computer fixes-he might be able to fix but never know WHY it screwed up in the first place. So the only option, in my opinion, that you really have is uninstall and reinstall Sonic stage, and IF necessary -ALL of the WinDOZE OS for your compute. That's what all so called computer experts end up doing with a software jam. If its a hardware failure-that's prettyu easy to find. Use a Knooppix LINUX-yes LINUX- CD on you r computer. IT runs LINUX from the CD only. It will not hurt your windoze computer. If the computer will not boot from the CD (and you may have to change the boot order in the BIOS) then you have a hardware problem which really has nothing to do with wheter the computer is ols or new.
