  1. I tried the software fixes but nothing worked. It looked like things were too serious so I took the laptop to experts and they pronounced my screen to be dead. It is hardware issues. Thank you sfbp for all the suggestions!
  2. I reverted back to the previous update but the issue has far from fixed. The lines cover more than half of the screen.
  3. Thanks you for your response. The double post was a mistake and me not able to delete one of them What does the forum deal with? I googled Sony vaio forum and this was the first link so this is where I asked the question. Please find below the screenshot of what I mean by the November 2019 security update. This message was being prompted for a week and hence over the weekend I installed the update. The laptop was working fine before after the update the problem is being caused. The windows update is not the cause of the problem. The problem is the Vaio gate, the drop-down thing that used to be there on top of the screen in Vaio laptops for quick and easier access, shortcuts of various program etc. That is not supported in the current OS (after the update) and which is causing the lines on the top half. I uninstalled it, still no luck I'll try your advice. Thanks for that
  4. I updated to the latest Windows security update of November 2019 and this happened. Can anyone please help me. Sony vaio E series.
