  1. K, so I recently busted my NWHD1! It still works perfectly, however, the screen on it is cracked as a result of being in my pocket with my keys Its actually pretty ironic since it had been dropped a million times without so much as a scratch. It was even dropped off two flights of stairs at one point... Anyways, so i take it to the Sony Authorized Dealer/Repair Center where I'm told they will need to replace the casing because they cannot just replace the screen cover. I was fine with all of this until they mentioned the price... Original Aluminum NWHD1 casing $230.00 Inspection Fee $35.00 Repair Fee $10.00 __________________________________________________________ Subtotal = $275.00 + TAX @ 6.0% So I ended up purchasing the NWA808 instead for an extra $10... But why is the aluminum case for this device SO EXPENSIVE!!??! And would anyone happen to know any sources where I can purchase one myself and repair it? A quick Google search didn't turn up much though... Thanks in advance for the help
  2. Hey guys, I knew it was too good to be true, that I had gone an entire 2 months without a single scratch or blemish on my NW-A808...however, yesterday, I dropped it in the toilet!!! So it went from no damage what so ever, to completely dead. It just suddenly made a very loud noise, the screen started to blink white and then it just died... So I took it to my local Sony Authorized Repair Center today where I was told it will be repaired free of charge in 3-4 business days because it is still under the 1 year manufacturer warranty (I may have skipped over the part that it fell in the toilet.) However, it has now been 5 days...and on their repair status site, it says they are awaiting parts order... So I have a couple questions: 1. How long do you think a repair like this would take > If they are in fact repairing rather than replacing? 2. Secondly, if repaired do you think my music will still be on there? *fingers crossed* I had 2000+ songs on that baby =( Thanx in advance for the help
