A6XX mount the same µprocessor CXR704060, so should have the same audio performance as EXX series, or may be sony made minor modify ( such as USB2.0 )then only updated the version code. we didn't know the detail info.

It's undoubtedly that it need to update the firmware to adjust the frequency range( change the voltage steps that apply to the tuning varactors in tuner module) , however, sony didn't release the firmware~~~
