Hi Model Mitten can't believe 186 people viewed this and none replied, anyway welcome...... my daughter has a NWA1000 and this has never happened to her YET.

Had my NW-3000 since early December and find connect ok, does what I want, also have 3 + HiFi Minidisc players and don't have any problems with them either. Maybe because I prefer to use use ATRAC and not MP3. Plant a seed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My Connect has auto updated to version 1.0.03.13130......does anybody know the change log?

Funny my 3000 has no problems, my daughters 1000 and a few guys that I work beside have had no problems yet. Personally I don't think they are shit and don't think the connect program is bad as it's made out to be. My son has ipod nano 4 Gig and we both find ITunes is worse to use than connect, the Sony units have better sound quality. I paid £180.00 for the ipod nano and now my son wants a sony instead!!!!!! If it's as bad as you say then get rid of it instead of moaning how bad it is and buy a mickey mouse ipod nano that scratches/marks as soon as you look at....and that’s putting a protective cover on it. Back to the post, P3rs I have 18Gig in my 3000 and it takes a bit of time to synchronise at connect start up (roughly 2 - 3 minutes) so that might be the problem......mind you my m/c is a fairly high spec and quite fast. But as suggested get in touch with sony for advice as there may be a problem.

To be honest, I have not had a problem with my NW-A3000 and neither has my daughter with her NW-A1000. The software works ok...it downloads music to the players and in a timely manner. The player plays the music, if I had any complaints; well not a complaint as such is 20 MB seems a lot until you start to download albums. There again would 30MB be enough, doubt it!!!!! I feel kind of out of it with everything working ok as it says on the tin. Oh well suppose human nature dictates that we must have a moan now and again, and the same human nature dictates that you can't keep everybody happy all the time. Suppose life is a compromise....enjoy while you can.

I have had the docking station since it came out in UK and think it is excellent, use it all the time. As for Connect, we are running it on A Mesh desktop AMD 3500+ and a Sony Viao Laptop with no problems what so ever. My son has a 4GB Black Ipod Nano on his Time AMD 2200 desktop and can honestly say that connect is a better program than itunes (in my opinion). My son is 10 years old and he prefers connect saying "that it is easier to use and quicker than his itunes". I heard that the Ipod Nano is easily scratched, so I bought cover and protection for it. My son and I were very careful putting on silicone cover and yet still managed to scratch the bloody thing. So having experience with NWA 3000, NWA 1000 and Ipod Nano I think I can honestly say that I prefer the Sony's for there better sound quality and the easier to use Connect software. PS just got email from Amazon that my Sony SRS-NWM10 Speaker Docking Station has just been despatched, will see how quick post office is after xmas holiday period.

Bought the Nano for my son's Xmas, big mistake......not as well built and now both my son and my daughter inform me they want Sony A1000 with 6 GB. Bought one for daughter, but son will have to take the domino sorry nano. This is first Apple IPod product I have bought......found it OVERPRICED, OVERRATED AND UNDER ENGINEERED. Connect will be better, only needs a few tweaks, I have loaded 17GB into my A3000 with no problems. Don't recall any software being perfect on first release....this is nature of the beast.

Hi, just to let you know I have just downloaded 10 gig to my NW-A3000 (delivered 16/10/05) using connect software with no problems what so ever and did not take that long to achieve. I must admit I like the A3000, both in looks and usability. Still use my SonicStage 3.3 for my Hi-Md, and have no problems with this software either, have used all versions of SonicStage and every version released has been an improvement. Remember Connect is only just released (yet to see any new software being 100%) so there is room for improvement. Hope Sony UK manages to release the accessories for A3000 soon, have ordered the charging cradle a few weeks ago thru Amazon, but still to see a cover for the A3000 in Amazon.
