  1. I think I've posted something similar on another part of the forum; so if it looks familar, apologies! I downloaded the new software yesterday and it look a frighteningly long time - so long in fact I thought my machine was on its way out. But everything was OK until I then connected the machine to SS4. It took ages to adjust and load new info but then came the real surprise. Yes, I now have clock/calendar/intelligent features etc but what has gone is any order of my CDs in Albums. Totally gone has the organisation by letter A, B, C etc which has now been replaced by by a stark choice between either 'A-Z' or 'etc'. And the really odd thing is that the A-Z is not remotely alphabetical! What has happened?! I used the Albums to get CDs recorded as I have mostly classical music and it was easier to sort that way. I've gone from a beautifully arranged library to a complete jumble. Also if I've got a piece of music that comes as 2 or 3 CDs, the player has now split some of those up making it even more difficult to find (and yet it hasn't done this to everything). Any help/advice/explanations?
  2. Right, whilst pleased with the new additions, updating to Firmware 3.0 has completely messed up the listing of CDs. The alphabetical facility has entirely gone and is replaced with a simple A-Z. But in fact it isn't alphabetical in the slightest which is a real pain with over 900 CDs loaded - everything's completely mixed up and it's changed from a nicely arranged library to a total mess! Any help?
  3. OK, my first entry on anything like this but I felt that I had to add my voice! I bought a HD machine that I bought in October but after two weeks it crashed wiping out 350 CDs worth of music. After a protracted tussle with a Sony Centre I got it replaced with a NW-A3000. They are gorgeous to look at and hold; sort of organic in its curved appearance but with that silver-black vibe too. Anyway, so far, so good. That feeling lasted about a day. Loading from Connect my machine died. So onto my 2nd machine and all seems well. The problem is Connect. It's awful. It won't even open sometimes and when it does will not co-operate. Somehow I got to work and download the majority of my music but it took forever. So exasperated was I by the refusal of Connect to work I have had to resort to SonicStage which I do prefer. On Connect there is no clear indication of progress of transfer, only some vague % figures that make no sense! I suppose I'm missing out on the Intelligent Shuffle but I like to listen to pieces from start to finish! Call me old-fashioned. I'm also finding impossible to alter album title details which considering I've got it to open at all is a minor cavil. It looks like my PC has the latest Connect version so I might give it a go. It's just that I've such bad luck with these machines recently I might sit tight!
