  1. Hi Juli Cheers for quick reponse... I had ANOTHER look through... but if I'm honest not too far back... think maybe you were referring to the fairly recent posts that pointed to either Realplayer10 - have tried but can't freakin download or MP3FM, which i've downloaded to both PC and crappy laptop and neither will recognise the player....aaaaarrrgh! for some reason the PC is saying that it's on drive J and MP3FM only goes up to drive I..... as you can probably tell I've been trying to sort this out for tooooo long today and have completely lost it for todeay! If anyone can think of anything else to try any suggestions would be welcome but right now I'm mighty tempted to just join the ipod generation!!! lmao I'd say that was pretty normal... in fact it's quite healthy that you're violent towards a real living human whereas I on the other hand am getting very threatening and physical with various bits of inanimate technology...... at least until those lovely people at Sony Helpdesk deign to get back to me...... just remembered there's a bottle of wine that needs my attention, if anything comes to anyone, pleeeeeeeease let me know -x-
  2. Hi, have been reading as much as I can but can't get my head round what I need to do next. You all seem quite friendly and I wondered if someone could help? I've been running my HD-NW5 on SS3.1 since I got it a couple of years ago. Originally running it from 2 computers (a laptop and a PC) with no problems. Unfortunately I no longer have access to the PC I was using (or the CD's that were loaded onto it - ah the joys of divorce) and the laptop is so out of date (with very little memory and no CD/DVD burner to run backups etc). I recently bought a new PC and resigned myself to the fact that the music already on the player will never make it back to my SS library. My current partner uses an iPod (bless him!!) so we spent many happy hours (not) putting all our current CD's onto the new PC. Last week I downloaded CP4.3 and filled the library up, but when I try and transfer from the Library to the device it asks me to format it as I've been using previous versions (3.1) of SS. Obviously I don't want to do this as (I think) I will lose the 7 or so gigs of music already on there. Am I right in assuming that? In addition the new PC is running Vista and from what I've read CP4.3 is the only version of SS that Vista is compatible with... so, i guess my question is, am I screwed or are there other software programs that I can run on Vista that will "talk to" my NW-HD5 without having to format it and lose what's already on there? Sorry if it's a stupid question but the more I read the more confused I get and I'm losing the will to live. Peacock -x-
