  1. Sadly true. Not long for over £100. No mention anywhere except some online comments about 032 being a HDD error. Initializing the disc does nothing helpfull. I went into the secret menu as per volume limiting instructions and found "HDDCHK" in "OTHERS" and ran that, Apparently it returned the message "OK" so i dont know what to do now. I tried transfer on two seperate PC's so i'm sure it's the player that's got the fault!!
  2. You're not the only one mate, I had many views on my problem with my NW-A1200 and no replies. I have just installed winamp 5.35 and the ML_SONY.dll plugin to transfer to and from the player, Works for me. Just search it on this site, I think the thread has 50 odd pages though
  3. As above, I think the HDD has went on my NW-A1200. If i try to transfer a file or files totalling any more than 80MB It disconnects from the PC and i need to reinitialize the HDD. So, I was wondering before/if i pay someone to repair it, I would see if there is a program that can scan it and repair any bad sectors on it? Diskeeper does'nt even recognise it, Spinright does and recognises it's a 12 bit FAT system but when i ask it to scan and repair it just crashes, I assume that the Walkman is refusing it permission to access it? So, Does anyone know of any programs for windows that would beable to check the disk? Or anyother suggestions would be appreciated, I also have the system error (No. 032) when connecting/disconnecting if anyone could help with that? Looks like my next player will be flash based and certainly not a Sony. Also, If anyone knows if it could help by formatting with windows and re-installing the firmware ? I dont want to format it with windows and wipe everything off the player and leave it compeletely useless I need my 80MB (Out of 8GB )as it's the only player i have.
  4. After one whole year ( ) using my NW-A1200 it has failed on me completely. The design is smooth, The whole layout and UI i find excellent. The sound quality is also excellent. Sonic Stage worked fine without major tragedy, Although i thought it was poor software. (Never tried i-tunes) Reasons i wont be buying my next player from Sony. 1.Atrac codec (No flac Support) 2.No Gapless mp3 3.Poor customer Support I dont want an ipod (Would rather give Sony another go) So i am looking at Cowan players (I-Audio 7) at the minute. I have had walkmans from the days of cassettes and have always prefered Sony to any other brand...... Dumbass codecs and politics have pushed me over now. Bye Sony
  5. Has anyone found out the cause of this error? I have the same problem when i transfer tracks to the player, My device is now unusable
  6. I keep getting the following error when disconecting or during transfer of songs on my NW-A1200 "Sorry there is a system error (No. 032)" And i need to reset the player to make it work again!! Has anyone had this error? Is there any solutions? I have re formatted the HDD many times but still no luck. I suspect the HDD has a bad sector or fault as random tracks would skip/jump during playback. I have used my player since last september and no serious issues, Now i'm pretty P@ss$d Off!! Any help would be appreciated, Thanks in advance.
