  1. I have just installed sonicstage 4.3 on my laptop (i was previously using sonicstage 3.0 on the desktop comp), and im finding it quite slow at importing from cds, but i think it could be because it is a lower spec computer. Suggestions why importing may have slowed and ways that could speed it up: You may have changed the recording quality (write speed) on the import menu to high, which means it will take longer to encode and import. if you put it on normal then it should be faster. You may have started using a different format at a different/higher bit rate. This can change the time it takes to import. Ive heard that lower bit rates take a shorter time to import. Perhaps if you close all other programs when importing it may be faster. You could also make sure that the cd isnt playing in any other programmes or with sonicstage while you are importing. thats all i can think of Hope one of them works
  2. I recently purchased a sony nwe 005 for its aac support as a lot of my tracks are encoded into this format. I soon realised i would have to download sonicstage 4.3 for its aac support( ive previously been using sonicstage 3.0). Upon downloading it, i imported some aac tracks, which are encoded by itunes only to find that when they display no album info is shown, as if the id tags are not recognised. This means that i have to type out all of the album information by hand, or searh for album information track by track, which seems to take forever. Is there any way that the album information can be shown or obtained quickly? (like when the information is obtained when encoding a new album into attrac). Can the sony nwe 005 be used with other software, which can transfer aac files, such as itunes or realplayer? Also when converting between different fomats (e.g wma to attrac using similar bit rates), does it result in tracks of lower quality? ive heard that different formats compress in different ways so its generally not a good idea to convert between. is there any way to import already encoded atrac tracks into sonicstage from another computer or device? Thanks Tim
