I have put quite a few albums on my player using SonicStage, then deleted most of the tracks in a lot of these albums. This means that I have a lot of albums that only have one or two tracks in them, and they're a pain to scroll through. i'd like to create an album and call it something like 'Various', then move all thse odd tracks into it and delete the albums. I can't see how to do it using SonicStage, though. What might complicate matters is the fact that I've deleted a lot of these albums fro My Library, because I use a shared computer and don't want to fill up its hard drive. So, can anyone tell me how to do this?

I use SonicStage to put classical pieces onto my MP3 player (Sony NWS450F). Some of these pieces are continuous, unbroken music, but have track numbers in them to enable you to get at various parts of the piece. I find that when I replay such pieces through my MP3 player, there's a slight 'hitch' or gap (tenth of a second or less, perhaps) where each track number comes up. How can I avoid this? Thanks.

I have an NW-S706F and import stuff via SonicStage. I use SonicStage to delete tracks from the player itself, but often get a message saying 'transfer problem - could not delete following tracks' (or some such wording). But if I try a few times, I can get the track to delete eventually. Unfortunately, though, I've just tried to delete every track in an album, all in one go. I got the familiar 'can't delete' message, but because I tried to delete every track in the album, the album title itself has disappeared. So now I can't get at these tracks to have another go at deleting them. Can anyone suggest a way of doing it? I don't want a lot of 'hidden' tracks taking up space on my player.

Thanks for that reply I was on the computer today, and went to SonicStage, but I'm afraid I'm none the wiser. I know how to delete tracks from the 'library' but that only deletes them from the computer, not the player (I had the player connected while I was deleting tracks, but they're still on the player). The help files for SonicStage only seem to cover deleting from the computer, not the player. Any advice would be welcome. Thanks.

Hi - I recently bought an NWS706 player, and have been puuting CD tracks on it via SonicStage. Because my own computer is only Windows 98, I had to put SonicStage on a friend's computer and do the uploading/transferring there - and so as not to use up too much of his disc space, I deleted most of the tracks after I was sure they were in the player. Now I want to delete some of the tracks from the player, but I'm having problems - the PDF manual says to go to 'settings' and turn the wheel until 'delete rec data' comes up - but it doesn't! The manual does say "only songs recorded by the player can be deleted". What does that mean? Any advice would be very welcome.

I recently got my very first MP3 player, an NWS706F, and I'm very pleased with it. I've been transferring some of my CD's using ATRAC 64kbps, and I'm very surprised at how good they sound - from what I've read in various news-groups, such a low sampling rate should sound terrible, but it doesn't. But I'm wondering if I really *should* be using ATRAC Lossless instead. I've done a couple of tracks using both and have switched from one to the other, and can't decide whether I can hear much of a difference - but the switching takes a few seconds, so it's hard to compare. And I might find I can tell the difference if I upgrade my headphones. I'd like to put really long works on the player - symphonies lasting the best part of an hour - so 4GB won't last long if I use Lossless all the time. I know I could probably keep everything on my computer and put it on the player as needed, but I prefer the convenience of having it all on there permanently. So I'd like your opinions - is it better to use ATRAC Lossless than ATRAC 64kbps? Or would MP3 be a good compromise, and if so, what sampling rate would people here recommend? Thanks in advance.
