The problem is most likely related to the instability of usb ports, drivers, etc. Have you tried using another computer?

Thanks and that sounds rather appealing to me as I had quite a library of music DVDs and at present I ripped the audio from DVD and transferred to my E005/MD for portable listening. Just wondered how much space it will occupy for say a one hour concert. Audio sync issue probably not too much concern due to the small screen size (unless it is way off). Oh, how about avi files encoded with say divx?

Question. The video files ripped from DVDs will have a .vob extension but in fact is of MPEG-2 type. Can we simply rename the extension to .mpg and imported to Image Convert? Or, it only supports MPEG-1? Also, does it support common codecs like DivX?

According to Sony HK, A800 series will be available in HK as from 2-5 May. The price are HK$2188, HK$1828 & HK$1388 for 8GB, 4GB and 2GB models. Also, E010 series will also be available in HK, but price unknown yet.

Oops, my bad, I have the (wrong) impression the color options in Japan are all we've got from overseas. I believe the Silver colour is limited edition and only available in Sony style Japan.

According to Sony Japan, the 8gb model only comes in violet and black. So you practically left with two choices.

Can you see your player as usb drive under windows? Could be a conflict between your player and some other usb devices attached to your pc. if haven't done so, try another usb port.

How about if I'm running on a Chinese version of WinXP and want to display Japanese characters, in addition to English/Chinese characters. Is this guide still valid?

The S70x come with NC22 earphone. This earphone is also on sale as a separate item. I suppose the NC22 sold separately can fit to other walkman or DAP. And it seems only those NC22 come with S70x doesn't.

I don't know why you state this, but yes, they are selling NW-005F at HK$1188 (about US$153). I've seen the items myself at various large chain stores in HK.

You need to transfer the songs to the player by Sonic Stage to play them. Music will not play simply by drag and drop.

If the source files are in mp3, then it is normal that the files will not play gapless even after they are transcoded to A3+. I suggest you do a CD ripping direct to A3+ and transfered to A608 to check if they are gapless. I believe yours is a silver. I've got the silver A1000 and it certainly looks very shiny. AFAIK, A608 doesn't have a black option. A1000 and A3000 comes in black but only in limited edition and available at Sony style/shop. And, yes, A1000 is a HDD player. I never purchased a flash drive player so I have no idea of what sort of battery life of such, but I'm very disappointed about A1000's battery life.

The price difference is about US$53. I like E005F more because of the black colour. A608 doesn't come in black. Also, I have A1000 which I found it has a rather weak battery life and this led me to feel A608 may not have a good battery life.

The reason I asked is because I've once read somewhere in this forum that the A-series flashdrive player (ie., A-60x) cannot play gapless, though the A-series HDD player does. Oops I just realised that SimKill has an A608, could you confirm that if it plays gapless or not.

My bad, it should read "The 2GB NW-E005F model sold in HK does not have FM radio".
