  1. OK, I can answer my own question and hope it may help someone else. Install Connect on new pc, initialise the hard disc on the player, connect player and let them set up their partnership. Close Connect player and copy the library folder from \documents and settings\all users\application data\sony corporation\connect player and then past it into the same location on the new pc overwriting the existing file. Shut pc down and restart, then open connect player and attach walkman, the only files not copied over were the “free” download from Connect Store so I made an audio CD of it and re-ripped it
  2. Hi all Just bought a new pc and wondered if any of you know how to transfer the library to the new pc as I don’t want to recreate it. Tried copying the whole of Connect player folder from the application data in docs and settings, this brought the library but connect player did not recognise my NWA3000. Thanks
  3. I got around this by using MP10 to rip the tracks intoWMA, it handles mixed music / data and also allows you to seach for albums by name or artist if Gracenote fails. Additionaly before Christmas I had a lot of e mail correspondance with Sony Convergence team, they even sent me a utility to run on my PC which produced a csv file which I returned to them, they appeared helpful but I have heard nothing since and had no replies to my subsequent e mails ... perhaps they are too busy writing a new program
  4. Hi I bought a A3000 from Amazon for £158 which arrived Friday, I installed the Connect software updated to v11170 and started, to rip my CD collection. First impressions were it was slow compared with iTunes which my daughter uses but other than that it didn’t seem as bad as people made out … until last night! Having imported about 1200 tracks I noticed it kept saying “do not disconnect” I then had an error message come up “the file or directory \omgaudio\08edtern.dat is corrupt. When I did disconnect the player had no database. The corrupt file is on the player so I reinitialised the drive now I keep getting tinyhttp.exe has to shut down errors. Anyone had a similar problem …….. and how do you contact Sony by phone
