No on-the-go playlists & no deleting from player. There is a function to add a song to the wishlist. No idea what it does . I really don't have to the time to write a review, since the new academical year has started. If you have questions, shoot! I noticed the player has no metal casing, it's a plastic like case. You can call it premium plastic .

Orded a S638 walkman this monday from SonyStyle, it arrived today. If I find a spot in my schedule, I'll write a review. First impressions: looks good, sounds very good and radio reception is poor. Under Windows it acts as an MTP USB device. No gapless playback of LAME 3.98 VBR q=2 mp3 files.

Apple is todays popular culture, that's the big problem for Sony.

I can buy now a A818 (8GB) for 99$ (new). I believe the a818 is a MTP USB device. Are the new series MTP or UMS? Should I buy the A818?

The new walkman series are imho fine. I wonder how the E serie compares to the S serie in terms of sound quality (disregarding the differences in megabassbling functions between the two). I'm very curious to find out if Sony has jumped back to gapless playback. Remarkable, the E serie (45hrs) has a longer battery life than the S serie (40hrs).

I really hope Sony will implement gapless playback of mp3's in their new DAP's. Gapless playback is the only reason I bought an ipod and not a Sony...
