  1. Hi I hope it's not too late but for anyone else in tHe similar situation, you need to do the following (it's not hard to do): 1. Remove the silver disk that hides the rear casing screw 2. Undo the screw and slide the back off (downwards motion towards the USB & charger socket). 3. Undo the 4 screws holding the battery and disconnect it from the board. 4. Undo the main board screws so that the circuit board becomes loose. 5. Gently lift the board up but not so you damage it. Underneath you will see a black piece of moulded plastic and a large silver screw. 6. Slacken of the screw and lift the armature of the plastic into the ridge of the volume slider button. 7. tighten down the screw securely and then follow the steps 4 backwards. It's not difficult and it beats sending the device away or thrown in the bin. Regards Jason
