Xp was released with over 500000 bugs in it, concidered to be non show stopers, how funny is that, and it worked okay, connect for most doesnt work at best.

So with all the issues with connect and what is happening what is the alternate for us people who actually have it running smoothly, are we going to be left in the dark, is sony going to drop it all together. You know its not all that bad, needs some tweaking, and I hope we see it patched up. Whats everyone elses thoughts. We have no notice here in North America telling us anything about it. Have to read it in the European Sony pages. Any of you serious Sony people that read this, some of us would like to have answers, or an offical statement. I'm seriously thinking theres something wrong with a corporation that stings us this way!!!!!!!!!!!!!, this would have made my descision about bying my nwa-3000 an easy one.

Much faster and stable, startup, and shutdown times are suprisingly fast, Id go as far as saying twice the time.

Been beta testing vista for months, and all the features are not yet enable. Will be a memory hog to boot. Just the video features are amazing, again not fully fuctional. I think as far as being compatible, it will be to early to really tell. I have tried connect on it and it works.

Whats it doing sleeping, hurry up man, its only 14 meg in size. Sheesh

Im getting anywhere from 12 hours and up, on a test run to drain it now, hit 13 hours, and I do have my eq turned up.

I think they are all viabl and easy requests to do, also as far as load times, for the connect software, I have close to 3000 songs loaded, and connect load time is less than 25 secs. Mind you I rebuilt my system to see what would happen with a fresh OS install, and have put all my games back on now, and its running slick. When I orginally installed connect on the old system before I had all kinds of issues, was very preturbed, and almost sent my NW3000 back. Figured I t was a good time to format all my systems and I'm happy with the performace of everything now.

You know what would be really good is we out here could beta test this stuff before they ship it out. I'd be will to test for them, im sure others here would also. I haven't had any issues since I reinstalled my systems, have over 3500 songs imported, and its fast.

I did it twice this week aand it had no effect on it what so ever, even went through the metal detecter with it Jamming. No issues.

I'm pretty close to filling it now, have 15.2 gig on it now. Never say never.

Okay Boys and Girls, Heres something to try if your having issues with the software and your NWA-3000. I had originally installed all my stuff on my PC, which by the way was running like a charm. The connect software installed and updated to the latest and greatest. Imported all my mp3's by the way a few thousand of them, and it all went wrong from there. Called Sony tech support here in Canada, by the which are totally useless and couldnt offer ant reasonable help. Went to another computer in my home and tried it, same issues. Get this though, i formated one system reinstalled everything including alll my games, reinstalled the connect software, imported my all my mp3's and it worked flawlessly. Did the same on the other machine I tried on earlier and it all works flawlessly there also. Could be several reasons for this but I thing huge registries, which are all bloated out with invalid keys, severly trashed OS's, etc. If anyone one is brave enough would like them to try it if they are having issues with thier connect software. Format your system, put it all back, and install to the new OS, its worked twice for me now. May help you all out. Taz

Everyone, any admins watching these forums, can we get a page setup with the links for all the different manual updates for the connect software, and hardware updates, with thier bug fixes detailed out, so we all can find them in one place. Thanks Much Taz

NW-A3000 + Connect Player Impressions
tazdevil replied to SimonGrafftey's topic in Product Reviews/Pictorials
Just got a new nwa-3000 and installed the connect software to import songs, it kept crashing on me. I had issues with my connect software, right from the go. Reinstalled the OS, and dumped 5 gig with of songs on a fresh install, in less than 17 minutes. Everything worked as it should. It sounds good, and looks good. Im impressed at this point.
