Hello everyone! Next release should be available soon : It will add playlist support (hopefully if I can find the bug) for the hdd devices only... drag and drop should also work now The atracforum administrator contacted me and they will create a forum for ml_sony very soon :-) edit: Wohoo received my first donation today! thanks a lot!

Hello everyone, choccieman: Sometimes the db get's corrupted I am trying to find out why at the moment. Apparently the new version seems to be less stable than the first when it comes to reading the db. I will post a fix as soon as I can. Ficklefinger: Just go to your media library, select the files you want to send to your device, right click on one select send to then the name of your device, Then go to your device and click the apply button (bottom right corner)

Well I think It's a little annoying especially for small device like the E505. you don't have a lot of memory so having twice the same song just to have some playlist seems like a waste of space Anyway I will try another solution for those player
-
No I don't use auto transfert either Do this: 1) choose 3 files in ss and send them to the device 2) choose the same 3 files and create a playlist in ss 3) send the playlist from ss to your device 4) check how many files you have on your device Anyway maybe I am doing something wrong I don't know... Tell me how you do it if there is another way plz! :-)
-
Stuge: Are you sure that the files don't get copied twice? Personnaly I have tried on my E505 and ss3.4 Each time I send a new playlist all the files in the playlist are resent even if the files are already present on the player... As I said earlier I send 3 files. Then I send a playlist containing the same 3 files. I go to the OMGAUDIO/10F00/ directory, I have 6 files (twice the same files) On NWA1000 + connectplayer with the same operation I get 3 files + 1 playlist as expected

Small update : The all album features works but create other problems : So you browse to your album menu and you have "all albums" available. But now if you go to the all track menu you will get every track listed twice and unfortunately there is nothing I can do about that So I am thinking of a new solution I will add an option in the configuration panel, to automatically create an "all album" "all artist" and "all genre" playlist. Another thing : the albums are now ordered by track number :-) Finally I am having trouble with the playlists : it works fine on my NWA1000 but there is no playlist option on my NWE505... Indeed for the NWE505 when creating a playlist on sonicstage, the only thing it does is create a list of songs and rename the album tag to the playlist name. That is why if you transfert 3 songs then a playlist with the same 3 songs you will get 6 files on the device (for E505 only?) So for now only limited playlist support...

As said earlier in the thread ;-) visual studio 6

Hello Everyone! knuckledragger: Thank you for the bug report, Indeed I have not fully tested sending 256+ files, Has you said it's a problem of creating the directory. I will correct that asap Auke: Drag and drop will be available for the plugin once I find the time ;-) you will be able to drop mp3 or m3u files -- if you are new to winamp here are the plugins I use: - Album list ( to get a full screen of albums covers you can select from) - toaster (to popup the name and cover of the song when playing) - Wombat share (to listen to music from work) - leoslyrics(to get the lyrics automaticaly)

I am planning on doing something smart ^-^ meaning the tracks will be sorted by their track numbers, one draw back is that it probably wont be compatible with anything else than ml_sony. The order in winamp or the transfert order will not matter. When selecting an album on the device the tracks will be ordered by track number. I will probably do the same with all tracks/all genre etc... next release will take a lot of time
-
Thank you bergmarmot, this is sooo lame
-
I don't think the "correct" track number is used on the device. meaning if you send a few songs from an album, then the rest of it the order will be the order in which you sent the tracks... It's kind of stupid because if you start by sending a playlist then send a whole album the track order will be wrong... So in winamp I have 2 choices : -read the track tag from the file, in this case ml_sony won't be fully compatible with mp3fm, -create the track number = track sent order
-
Ok I have problem... When using sonic stage or ml_sony to send a file the track number is added as a tag to the oma files. However it doesnt seem to be the case with MP3fm If a nh5 user could confirm this please... : - Try to send the second half of an album for exemple tracks 5 to 9 of the same album. - disconnect the player (try the tracks) - reconnect send the first half of an album ex : tracks 1 to 4 - disconnect then browse to the album - check with the tracks name if the order is 1..4 then 5..9 or if it is 5..9 then 1..4 thank you for the help edit: I found another "fun" stuff about sonicstage : -I send 3 files from an album -I create a playlist in sonicstage with the 3 songs -I transfer the playlist to the player -I get 6 songs on the player instead of 3 + 1 playlist... talk about lame software I will try to implement something different ...

Hello everyone! Ok I will try to find the crash problem and make a fix as soon as I can, I know for a fact that once you start using connect player, your db can not be read by sonicstage. So I won't be looking very far on the compatibility problems between ml_sony and cp or ss Only it would be nice to know why it doesn't work with GYM, I hope Xipse will have some time to take a look... Auke : About using winamp from the device, I have been thinking about that for some time know... With hdd device it should work because you can just copy your winamp directory and use it from the player. For memory device the transfert rate is so low that I am not sure it would work... Plus I use wombat share : it's a program that allow you to play your own music accross internet, so It would be like: plug your device on any computer and you would have access to your music on winamp as if your were on your own computer... I have to find some time to resume work on wombat share to add the download feature :-( Karl : Personally I use visual studio 6, I think it is incompatible with 2005, I tried once but got so many errors that I dropped it :-P You probably don't need anything else but you might have to add the subdirectorys to your library folders in VS (the ones with winamp files) Let me know if you succeed I would gladly try again vs2005 Edit: Ok found the problem... There is no track tag on those files.... I will have to figure out another way of getting the track number :-(

Ok that kind of bad name is normal, It's because I just redirect winamp to the file, some files probably change names because they still have idv1 tags at the end of the file (idv1 are at the end of the file) Anyway, play functionnality is not ready yet! I will work on it later! nickzeff here is the test plugin: Please delete the log file in c:\ before launching winamp, just check if winamp still crashes with the new plugin, if it load then in the track column you should have some file with a track number of 999. This mean that the track number could not be read. please send me the oma files that could not be read + the decode key + the log file If there is too many files just send me 2 or 3 :-) Thank you for your help I will go to sleep now see ya all
-
bad names? like 1000045.oma or bad names not corresponding to the track played?
-
Nice give me some time and I will send you the test file
-
I am using winamp 5.21 free version :-( I don't know where this come's from... I will check again the display part, I had no problem loading the database you sent me so it's probably not the problem. Could you make one more test please? : Inside OMGAUDIO you have subdirectories containing the oma files, could you MOVE those directory somewhere else, then try to launch winamp. Maybe it's in the reading of the tracks that there is a problem(I read the track number from the files) Let me know if that works for you, if so I will make a patch to find out what file is causing the crash Otherwise, solutions to rebuild the database: 1)First make a backup of your OMGAUDIO/*.DAT files 2)first solution : go to your OMGAUDIO dir and sort the files by date. You should see some files are correctly dated and others have a strange old date like 2000/01/01 or something like that. Delete the files with the old date (those files are generated by the player) Then just unplug your player and let it regenerate the database. 3)second solution : go to your OMGAUDIO dir and delete every DAT files EXCEPT 04CNTINF.DAT launch ml_sony it should rebuild your database If it does not work just copy back the DAT files from your backup
-
GOOD! it had nothing to do with the database, it was a simple null pointer string in winamp's display.... (stupid me ) Sonicstage compatibility is not very High on my work list... First I will finish the playlist, then I will start looking at connect player, to start adding link artist etc... Edit: Source forge version was updated

Hello, Ok I found a stupid bug... Could someone please test this please For your information winamp can NOT play directly from the device unless you have a non protected device like NAW1000 or NAW3000. I will add the support for other player later :-) if the file you download from the device is not readable that usually mean that the key used to decode the file is not valid. Again make sure you installed MP3FM for YOUR device (the dvid.dat file is different for each device) or if you are using GYM/decodeKey tables that you used the key wizard with the device you are trying to use... So far using the database I received I was able to successfully download & read so I am not sure what is the problem here... I am out for lunch I will be back later So please if someone can tell me if the fix works.... Oh also, If you have a NW-HD5 device or any device that is protected YOU MUST NOT have an nocode.txt in the OMGAUDIO directory... Thank you :-)
-
Ok thx :-( nothing interesting inside, next release I will put more debug messages
-
Oh I forgot: for those who have crash problem After a crash there should be a Debug_ml_sony.log file in c: could you open it and copy the last few lines so that I can understand what is wrong? Thank you for your help
-
Ok I will look into it, Did you try using a clean database? if not this is probably a compatibility problem with the software you are usually using...
-
Ok I will check again my files There is no need to format your player: - Just make sure mp3fm is correctly installed (meaning you used the installer to install. it if you do that you don't need the gym keys) - Then create a new empty OMGAUDIO directory - Then create an empty file 04CNTINF.DAT in this directory
-
hi bergmarmot, did you already sent me you database file? if not please send me the files in OMGAUDIO directory (only the .DAT files) I though I solved the problem :-(
-
Hi stuge The purpose of creating a new OMGAUDIO directory is to start with a fresh database and to backup your old OMGAUDIO in case you don't want to lose your current database. I don't think 5.2 is necessary (although I never tested) When you say mp3 won't play do you mean: - won't play from winamp directly from the device (it's not fixed yet) - won't play from downloaded file - won't play from the device itself? Finally transfert doesn't work? : -does it crash when applying? what error does it give? Please give me a little more details so I can help you ;-) Thank you for testing anyway :-)
