made in china is not necessarily inferior.. why dont you check where the other HDD's are manufactured? the Hd1 is believe is made in japan. open that and see where that HDD is made.. also how is the nw hd2 ?

mutli booting has no issues with sonic stage.. i multi boot with linux. and since windows cannot see linux partitions, it does not know if linux is present.. so SS works just fine.. the whole issue about branded pc's and self assembled pc's is also pretty useless. i have built my own pc and own a thinkpad.. SS works just fine on both.. uninstall all versions of Sonicstage using this link http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showtopic=8071 finally, re-install the latest SS version cheeers

Delhi da puttar, why do want to buy the new a 3000 when you have the hd3 and the hd5? that makes it a minimum of 40 gb. plus, these things in india will be extremely expensive. i had my rh10 got through somebody. in india too, i am seeing ads for the hd3 and not the hd5. do let me know if sony has started advertising for the hd5 too in delhi.

the ex71 are not that loud in any case. i get much higher volume with sony stock earbuds than with the ex71

Is there any particular reason you dont want to buy or not like an ipod? I am not an ipod person myself, hence i would like to hear your reasons... They are firmware upgradable.. The hd1 gets native mp3 playback through a firmware update.. cheers
