Just want to let you know that now you have one more option for choosing case for your VP. PDair is offering the brown version of its case for VP.

Simplified Chinese will work only when they are the same as the traditional version.

I think Leon is right. There are just some characters that are not in the library. I got 100% in my first try. Lucky. In my second album, I found one that can't be convert: 你 in 2 of the songs Unfortunately, this is a really important one and will be in many titles.

Thank you, guys for the great list. I am sure I can find my best fit from it.

I read the reviews of Sony's XD series. They seem to be great phones. But I only have a budget of $50 and want a pair of portable and over the head phones to work with my VP. How about this one, Sennheiser PX-100/200? How good are they? About sound quality, design and so on. Any one can do a more detail review of them? What other choices I can have?

Yes, I use this software "NJStar Japanese Word Processor". http://www.njstar.com/njstar/japanese/download.php Just copy and paste the Chinese text to the software, it will conert it into Kanji code. Then copy and paste that in the Sonicstage (title, artist and so on). Finally, transfer the album into VP. That's it. Sounds easy, but lots of work. I only finish one album so far.

As discussed in other topic postings, the VGF-AP1L can only show chinese characters that are within the Kanji libary. Otherwise, the text will be shown as question marks. I tried to convert the chinese text from unicode to Kanji and input the kanji code in SS. Now those text shows up correctly on my VP screen. Anybody tried the same thing?

Well, I uninstalled SS2.3 and reinstalled to SS2.1. No luck. I also uninstalled all the other components before I reinstalled SS. Maybe I should tried that again? until I got luck? Any suggestions?

I think you can do it either way. The problem is I can't do it neither way.

Although I am not sure what UI glitch is all about, I will try to reinstall. Is this caused by using AppLocale? But I did sucessfully add cover to albums after I run SS through AppLocale.

Everthing goes fine until I imported a new albumn to SS Library and tried to add cover art to the albumn. I found that I can't add cover to my albumn now! what happens? I right click the albumn and select property-cover art. When I click Add, I should be able to find the cover file and add it to the albumn. But after I click it, no response. I then went back to the albumns already in the libary. They have been added the right cover. I should be able to add another cover art to those albumns, right? But I can't. After I clicked Add, just no response. Then I tried to remove the cover of one of the tracks. It went on and remove the cover. But when I tried to add back the cover to that track, same thing happened. Other than that, all the other functions of SS are working fine. Any one can help? I just add the cover hours ago. And it's dead now.

Thanks, Ishi. I did get a lot of information from the posts you put on the forum. I love my VAIO and am enjoying it. By the way, are you in Boston?

Yes, I know it only supports texts within the kanji library. But isn't SS supported by the same library? Why SS can show those texts correctly? Is it the windows coding that the SS is based on supports the texts rather than the Kanji library? Anyway, I am pretty happy about having 100% on SS and about 80% on Vaio, which has exceeded my expectation.

Hi, there I used SS2.3 with windows XP. And no one single problem with music transfer, connect.com registration, computer authoriztion and so on. Since SS2.3 was designed for Vaio VGF-AP1L, I think it should be the most stable version of SS for it, if you don't use SS to rip cd to mp3. Please correct me if I am wrong. I would say the newest may not always be the best fit. One issue I have though, is about the chinese display in SS and the player. By using Ishi's method, Using regedit+Microsoft AppLocale, SS2.3 shows all my songs title in Chinese perfectly. But after I transfer them to my VGF-AP1L, most of the characters show up correctly, while some of them show as "?". Why VGF-AP1L can't show the chinese characters 100%, while SS does that before transfer? Anyone has tried to solve this and been sucessful? Sorry if this doesn't belong to this topic. But it is the hottest topic in this forum right now.

Just got my Vaio and charged 6 hours. Can somebody give out the sucessful self instruction step by step? From after charging, to firmware/software upgrading, to registration/authorization, to connect.com for free 50 songs, to play the first tune. Thanks
