I'm quite familiar with that article, and I put forth that in my mind before I started this topic. It's a completely valid point, and there is a slight chance that it would nuke the server to oblivion. I will note that I have made great strides with server response time [given what the server is] as of late and I have seen RSS/phpbb feeds in action [which you may want to look into before making such brash statements] and there really isn't that much I'm concerned about, as long as it's tweaked to our stature accordingly not to induce trouble. Would I implement such in our current state? Maybe. We are quite close to a server upgrade, so I would most likely do it then. We'll see. I need more feedback. Thanks for replying, regardless. Funny how fast it takes guest users to find out when a specific forum doesn't have post restrictions against them in place - which is what I want, here, at least in this forum. If you're a regular though, spend the 45 seconds to register. :rasp: [late edit - ah, know who you are now. Troll.]

Have you used Sonicstage v.2? It's not that bad compared to previous versions..

Don't worry about it. So you guys will directly sell Hi-MD units, or what? Nonetheless, welcome to the forums. I'm a prior Georgia resident myself, actually [Roswell]..

What would you guys think about an automated RSS feed that would make new topics with content from minidisc.org, gizmodo, slashdot + more?

You cannot use the radio without the remote, however.

Welcome. You may want to look into employing some better headphones, as the stock headphones that come with any unit are usually crap. Look here for some headphone recommendations: http://forums.minidisc.org/viewtopic.php?t=4704 Look here for more about units that have a better overall sound than most average units [such as the one you're employing]: http://forums.minidisc.org/viewtopic.php?t=4223

Was in a rush, but thanks for the correction. I know now that at least someone is reading! skyther probably hit the nail on the head. Either the other companies are knee deep in R&D, or they're simply watching if this new venture will fail for the format or not..

Well for one, the Japanese version is built in Japan AFAIK. There's a chance that it was built in Malaysia, but that's not really an issue these days as higher-end models made in that area are usually built quite well. Other than the availability of the gold color in Japan and the ability to display it's native language [as well as English], there really isn't too much of a difference.

First, we'll start with the player-only MD-DS55 from Sharp, with an improved/matured Auvi digital amp: A stunner. [av-watch page] [official sharp page for the unit] [more about the amp] ---------- Victor/JVC just released a nifty new MD/CD boombox [RC-G1MD]: Four colors, 4W per channel and a unusual hand sensor on the front of the unit that will change the colors upon waving your hand in front of it. [official JVC/Victor page translated] [av-watch page with info and pictures] ---------- Also, another player-only unit, the XM-C11 from JVC/Victor: 3mW, but incredible battery life. Go check it out.. lol, I'm just worried about certain moderators and these newly-integrated powers..

Yes, capturing the recording is definitely possible; just play back the track through Sonicstage and record that stream with a program like CoolEdit. No big whoop IMHO. All music files are stored as one big file that is DRM'd and untouchable, and is called *.hma.

Welcome, birdyi. Perhaps you could go into more detail how this is commonly fixed?

Added a swank new listing of the users who have logged in the last 24 hours, and it doesn't kill the server! Rejoice! It also gives some keen information in your profile about hits, usage and more [to mods/admins]. Enjoy..
