Like everyone else said, you can safely charge a Ni-MH battery, however I wouldnt recommend leaving it plugged in all night. Overcharging is the number 1 reason people ruin perfectly good batteries IMO.

I would have to agree. I think Japenese marketing was the key to saving Minidisc. However, Xitel is important and should be included in the essay....just not as the savior of MD. Good luck
