Snowplough

I have just read my way through a lot of the posts on this site dealing with using my nice shiny new Sony MZ-N707 MD recorder. I bought this for 2 reasons, Sony... a name you can trust and are a respected and also because later this year I am going to the Reading Festival and the 3 day Imola festival in Italy. Both feature Metallica and as I collect their bootlegs (as well as loads of others) I thought I would chance my arm recording them. Am I right in thinking that even if I manage to get a decent recording I can't upload them to my ftp server? If I can do I use the Sony Open software that came with my md or do I need to get other software? This brings me to the other million questions:Do I go with Binaural mics? do I need bass roll off? I know you have all been asked these questions for a lifetime but please excuse the newbie-ness I am hoping to go to a couple of "local" cover bands and try out with the info recieved from here.
