  1. Give more info, what kind of equipment do you have? Cassette: protable, deck, optical out, analogue out? MD: portable, deck, optical in analogue in? Theo
  2. A really useful option for me would be a timer which really can be set to the clock, to start a record. Something like start record in pause mode, and set the record options, volume, SP, LP2, LP4, mono, input source or whatever the way you want. Next the option to stay in pause mode (or stand-by, would be even better) to wake up at the given time (And NOT like the trackmark timer on the mz-r909 which works as a countdown timer) and start recording with the entered options. THat would make it a lot easier to record radio programmes during the night. So my idea: Set the record options, set the timer, the recording starts at the given time. Just for those who want to sleep at night. Theo BReimer
  3. He o-p, I also had the Sony MZ-R55 it is quite a nice recorder, but the battery life sucks. So for my own recordings i was searching for a new recorder, I also stared at my screen for houres. Eventually i bought my new unit: Sony MZ-R909. So far i am really satisfied. Single Play, LP2, LP4 and mono recording. After inserting a disc you can immediately start recording due to the memory buffer. There is a line in, optical and analogue. There's a mic in. There's is a line-out (negative point of: you have to change the out-put signal in the mindisc menu from headphone to line-out and vice versa when changing the output source) The automatic recordvolume setting works good (enough) but it is possible to change the record volume when recording in manual rec, just by turning the jog-wheel. It has got a long battery life when using the aa-battery pack, i always use that. I say go for it, espacially when you DON'T WANT or NEED Net MD and you prefer Sony. Theo Breimer
  4. I'm 20, first recorder when i was 17
  5. I recently bought a Sony MZ-R909 at RAF Staffhorst, they were on sale (I am also from the Netherlands) for 289 euros. I could not find it cheaper. About the record level, before i start my recording i press the pause button, and change to manual recording in the Rec. Volume menu. Now i can adjust the recording volume during the recording just by turning the Jog wheel thing. Really easy. The unit also has automatic record control, but you should only use that for recording voice and NOT music. The last remark: When searching for the right record volume, always keep your headphones on so you can keep track of the record volume. Theo
  6. Hello, For my reporting work i am looking for a Sennheiser MD21u mono mic. You know where to find an occasion priced around 100 euros, please let me know. Preferably somewhere within Europe. You got an idea for a comparable mic, let me know! Theo Breimer
