  1. Howdy, I've had a Sharp MT877 for a couple years now, and have recently run into some issues with it. The last couple times I've used it, including last night, while recording a show, it decides to turn off when it feels like it. The first time it happened, it stopped recording after 45 minutes, then after being restarted, stopped after 30, then again after 15 minutes. Last night, it recorded for 45 minutes again before shutting down, and I missed about half the show I was recording. Now I know that overused/charged batteries can affect cell phones, so I'm wondering if this is something as simple as a battery issue. Last night, though, I did have the "external" battery connected (a double-a in the holder) and it still failed. Any ideas, thoughts, or similar experiences and advice would be appreciated! Thanks, Jason
  2. Howdy. This is a first for me with my Sharp MD MT877 on a disk recorded at a live show last night. During the process of recording, the player managed to create it's own tracks in spite of the fact that marking is off. In the middle of a song, the player marked a track, and now I am completely unable to combine the tracks together, and get the message "Can't Edit" The only suggestion the manual has is to "change the stop position of the track and then edit it" This doesn't make a ton of sense to me, unless its suggesting I move the tracks instead? At the moment, the disk is down to 3 tracks, the band's first set, and then the second set broken into the two tracks. Any thoughts or suggestions would be very welcome. Thanks, Jason
  3. I generally prefer a good audience recording over a soundboard recording any day of the week. Another recorder and I got the same show, mine from the audience and his from the soundboard, and boy was there a HUGE difference. Part of it had to do with his use of DAT vs. my use of MD, I think, too. Anyway, the only way I know to get soundboard is to ask the band directly; sometimes they'll go for it, other times they won't. One band even told me it was up to the sound guy once, but that was a local band.
