5 years is a long time. the manual even tells you how to remove the internal battery. if sony doesn't make replacements, a third party will, so i dont think anyone has to worry about that.

nah... i dont think that's possible. even if u set the setting to Line Out, it switches to headphone once you plug in the remote.. =( this is why we need a dedicated line out!!! lol
