  1. Ok, I tried the player on another machine and it works fine so it has to be something on this machine that is causing this. Unfortunatley my system restore only goes back 10 days or so and the same problem persists resoring back to previous points. I have installed alot of microsoft hotfixes and updates in the last few days, are there any known issues with various hotfixes that might have caused this do you think?
  2. Yeah tried removing device driver and replugging in device, didn't help. Going to set up another machine and try it on that next, that should narrow the problem down a bit hopefully.
  3. Just can't seem to get to the bottom of this problem. Have been using this sony walkman and it's software with no problems for a few months now but yesterday sonicstage stopped detecting the mp3 walkman. The connection seems to be fine. Windows is detecting the player when I plug it in (get new hardware message) but I get nothing from sonicstage. changed from original 3.0 drivers to 3.4 but no change. Did a clean uninstall and reinstalled but no change. Turned firewall off but that didn't solve anything. (update) Tried the MDAC Repair Tool but that didn't help. Downloaded File Manager and that won't detect the mp3 walkman either. Don't know if it's relevant but wiindows is listing the mp3 player as a disk drive. Don't know if this is normal. Any suggestions? (update) Tried installing new firmware for player but that couldn't detect the player either.
