I keep trying to connect, and I can't seem to connect to the server. is anyone else having this problem?

yup, down for me too. the board malfunctioned maybe a week ago, the search function stopped working, and even though kohn was on vacation, he came by and fixed it somehow (prolly a few phonecalls back home), so maybe he'll fix it this time too. check back tomorrow, i say.

my N510 has 6 band EQ and virtual surround sound settings. but that's because i hacked it.

After spending a while on C|NET and the Sony website...and looking as much as i can..i CANNOT find any major differences between the NE-410 and N505.... The only difference whatsoever i can find is that the NE-410 does not have any inputs other than USB..wheras the N505 has an optical in.
