Hi I am the owner of a Sony R900 mini disc, the unit was working perfectly and doing everything I wanted of it until yesterday when I dropped it! Since this fall the locking mechanism won’t work, whenever I put a mini disc in it pops back out. This is a problem but at least it works if you hold it together, a much bigger problem is that this morning when I tried to record on to a mini disc I was told that the disc was protected (so I could not record) I though it might have been the disc but I have used others and received the same result. My question are: 1. What do you think is the problem with record function? 2. Can I repair it myself? /Should I take it to Sony service centre? How much will it cost? (Do you know of anywhere in central London where I can get it done) 3. Can I get the locking mechanism fixed /Should I do it myself How much will it cost? Thanks for any help you can give me, the mini disc player only been down for a day and I already missing it, I guess you don’t know what you got till its gone. Met
