I'm looking to buy a Sharp minidisc recorder, (Sharp because it seems to be best for recording, more options and control, etc., is that right?). But I have no idea which one one. I mainly want to use it for making the best sounding recordings I can on somewhat of a budget--mostly interviews, in person and also on the phone so I will definately be needing to plug a mic/line in. I like having options and control, (who doesn't though, I guess?), enough so that I would be willing to pay a bit more to get more if neccessary. Something user-friendly and durable would be good too, though perhaps they are givens. I don't care as much about downloading music from my computer, but then again, like I said, options are nice. Also it seems like Sharp has some new recorders coming out that have not yet hit the market, is this true? And if so, would I be better of to wait until one of these do?
In addition to all of these questions, I have more....eventually I'd like to transfer the sound to my iMac G3---I understand this will have to be done via analog--and I've been reading from some people that a lot of "newer" macs require using an iMic, or the like, but I thought mine had a line in built in and it's my understanding that the sound quality is better if you can plug in directly and not use something like an iMic--so am I crazy to think I can plug right into my computer, also does it really make much difference when using an iMic?
Thanks to all who will respond in advance.... I will be eternally grateful for the experienced guidance I hope you can provide, as I find all of this rather overwhelming.
