  1. Kind of a long shot..... I have a Sony MZ-R500 recorder. I generally record all my audio optically from my cd player. I was wondering if the minidisc player can read song names from cds (Those recorded with this data), and name them on th minidisc. I'l probably try it anyway, making a cd with name data, and recording it, but I just thought Id ask if the minidisc would recognise this data, and transfer it to the MD. If not, maybe I"l just borrow my brother's NetMD, and do it that way
  2. I read somewhere that they are the same pins used to connect remotes. Probably used on the assembly line for testing purposes.
  3. Theoretically, you may be able to wire one up internally. I'm pretty sure that the internal lcd, and keypad use the same transmission medium as external remotes. It's probably a long shot, but if you have some soldering knowledge, and some pinouts, it may be possible to wire up a remote. Id try it with my MZ-R500, but I dont really want a remote at this point  . Maybe if I feel the need later on il try. Edit: Open up the battery compartment, you sill notice 4 copper pads inside the minidisc player. Ive heard that these are points that are used in the remotes, so a remote may not be all that long of a shot after all.
  4. Just found these instructions yesterday, had to register today and say how well it's going. I modded my R500 yesterday, and it's working pretty good. I like the ability to store playlists for each disk, and I love the auto track mark feature. I've been wanting that feature for a long time, and now I have it. It's great No way to change EQ settings as of yet, that's too bad. Maybe when I work up the courage, I'l give my N505 a little go with some extra features too.
