  1. I've read several posts on this discussion and people wonder what can happen to me "the little guy" at the other end of a p2p network with the RIAA "watching". Well... I can tell you because it happened to me. I am a professional musician who writes and records my own music as well as playing in a "covers" band. So, I've been on both sides of the download issue.... but I did come home one afternoon to find an email in my inbox from my internet service provider saying that a certain file that I was sharing on p2p had been picked up by the company that owned the copyright. It had been traced to my IP address and if I did not remove the file immediately my internet service would be terminated and I would be turned over for prosecution. It can happen, so don't laugh it off!
  2. I am aware that everyone is looking for the fast way to "upload" from MD to PC... so far I haven't found anyone with that technology YET. However, for people who are asking questions all over this forum about "can I take things I've recorded on my MD into my PC...?" who are desparate to do so, any solution must be better than a simple "NO, YOU CAN'T." Which is what most of them seem to get. OK, so it isn't digital.... it isn't fast.... you have to do it in real time.... if it is a temporary solution until the digital fix is sorted out by the MD god somewhere ... then it is at least a help to the few people, like me who need to have a small portable way of recording things I do, but then also having a way to put those onto CD or send them via the internet.
  3. the 300xxxx thing works... just did it.. thanks a ton!
  4. All you need is....: minijack to minijack (one into the pc microphone socket... one into the MD) Software called Total recorder... demo available from download.com full version $11.95 (without the editing suite, which is ok if you have cool edit or something similar) or you can get the pro version $24.00 which has an editing suite with it. http://www.highcriteria.com/I downloaded the regular version yesterday and burned off a copy of a concert I recorded (my own infact) and then burned a CD straight away... If Sony had offered this they could have made so much dosh... but they couldn't be asked... too bad... now we are all just hacked off that they didn't sort it out and are going elsewhere with our money... have fun converting to CD!!!!
