  1. I am using a Sony MDM X4 for my MD mixer/editor. Since there is no digital input for the MDM, I have started dubbing MD's from a Sony JE520 to a Sony MZ-N10 through a CO3 SCMS manager using TOSlink, that way I can make back up copies as I proceed The problem is that if I try to combine or delete the tracks that I dubbed on the other machines (JE520 & N10), then my MDM completely hangs and freezes. I can still delete and combine those songs on the JE520 though. This also happened today when I tried to edit an MD that I had dubbed some songs onto from a CD player to the JE520 through the CO3 and TOSlink. I gotta figure this out and I have completely wracked my brain.
  2. So what do you guys think about this setup to dub live interviews of my wife's radio broadcast in order to distribute to multiple radio stations: Originally recorded on Sony MDM-X4 (no digital outs ) then, original is dubbed through : 1. Sony MDS-JE520 with TOClink digital optical out (source) 2. then passed through MM-CO3 (both digital/optical in and out) 3. recorded in Sony NZ-707 (digital optical input) will this give exact replicas worthy of distribution?
  3. what do you think that I should do then, how can I dub MD's effectively?
  4. I have a model SONY MDM-X4 MINIDISC MULTITRACK RECORDER. The major complicating factor is that I am wanting to digitally dub the MD's in order to maintiain fidelity, but there is no digital output on the unit...only RCA. I don't want to do an analog dub and lose fidelity Suggestions on what to do in order to digitally dub? I had thought about getting two portable MD player/recorders with digital out in order to make digital dubs. That seems to be the most economical route.
