  1. Interesting poll.... I'm 51.
  2. Does your Rode NT-1 mike require phantom power? I believe most condensor mikes require voltage to get the proper signals out of them...something like +48V. If so, this may be your problem. You'll have to supply your mike with the proper voltage, before it will function for you. I'm not familiar with your MD, but I don't think alot of them can provide the voltage for this type of microphone. Good luck.
