Recently, my MZ 610 has been malfunctioning. All of a sudden, when I press play to begin listening to music, the player does not respond. If I hit it with my hand a few times, it will initiate but otherwise it won't. I have not dropped my player previously. This problem has been ongoing for a week now. Any advice?

Has anyone ever run out of characters for one minidisc?
