  1. To top it off, now I can't leave service mode. I don't have a CD MD and I don't have my power plug with me. So that kinda bites. I discovered that I can pass the adjustments in service mode successfully the second time I run them. I.e., I get an error, hit "pause" again, and it says OK. Sorta weird.
  2. Hi, The problem started months ago; my MZ-R700 would just stop reading disks properly. Partway through a track, seemingly randomly, on all disks, the disk would spin but the time counter would stop and the audio would stop. This would be an issue when trying to play a disk, too; it would spin but the track listing wouldn't come up and the disk wouldn't be read. I did notice that shaking the player, or just allowing it to spin the disk for minutes on end, may temporarily fix the problem. Well, now I can't even get it to work at all. Won't record, won't play. The first thing I tried was removing the front casing and blowing into it real good. No luck. So I entered the service menu and followed the directions here for resetting the EEPROM, but on step 2, when I try to automatically adjust MO playback, I get the error code 324 NG 00. Is this a hardware error, most likely? Can I fix it myself? How much will repairs cost? Any other suggestions welcome. Thanks.
