  1. Are there any Players/Decks with spdif? All I keep seeing is toslink...
  2. or here... http://216.239.57.104/search?q=cache:5-v0J...&hl=en&ie=UTF-8 I can get that just for tranfer over opti... Id rather record with my sharp...
  3. How about a net MD player for 129$us... I know about all the hacking shit to the unit... But could yall simplify this a bit more for me? Do you basicly have to flash the MD player? Or is this all software done...
  4. Yeah google is my friend, i found a bunch. Its just I gotta find the damn things in the US. And you know how that is, Limited to none.
  5. Oh and what MD decks have opti out? I wouldnt mind getting one if its around 200$us... Sonys website is a joke (slow) so I didnt bother looking there...
  6. I knew that obviously (audio and light are diff) but my digital in on my sound card doesnt look like a digital Toslink. It looks just like a 1/8th input. So I got confused there... Anyway, I just entered the world of MD and bought a Sharp MT15. It has a line out, line in, mic in. blah blah. I needed it for sound live sound recording. Now i guess the only way to xfer the audio to PC is via line out to line in. I have a Creative 5.1 Live! Plat at the moment and the noise floor on the line in is pretty loud as youd expect. I wonder how the noise floor will be from going: line out > Behringer Mixer > aardvark LX6 ( http://www.aardvarkaudio.com/aasd-v1/produ...s/lx6-main.html ) Im getting it cause I'd like 24bit/96khz recording at home, of course my MD files will still be 16bit/44.1...
  7. The Audio Technica mics are amazing for the price... They are small/portable, sound almost as good as there very pricey models (700-1000$) etc. I wouldnt by anymeans compare then to a neumann mic etc, but since im not a geat snob I understand that a MIC is a TOOL. Just make sure to get somthing thats freq responce is 20hz-20khz. Be sure to figure what pole pattern to get for your needs. Stereo Cardioids / 20hz-20khz is your best bet for an all around killer mic. Look into omni directionals and binaural mics for ambient recordings.
  8. How come I keep hearing about people using their line outs on there their MD players to a digital IN? I thought youd have to have an optical out on the MD and of course the optical IN on your audio i/o. Does this work? What sorta of cable do I need, cause i dont know if 1/8th and optical cables are the same or not. Can someone sheds some light on this for me?
