  1. Sorry, I've just been watching the T-Board and not the minidisc.org BB because I hate having find my spot on the forum all the time. It's the joys of using phpBB vs vBulletin I suppose... Yes, any MD player would be awesome since it seems that no one has posted any information yet  ... I think that when I get back to school-possibly the 9/15 at the earliest-instead of the originally planned 9/23-I will see about setting my computer up as FTP server if the school firewall will allow it. Otherwise I will inquire into finding a good FTP server and going from there. It's just sad that I have to use a 56k connection at home .
  2. Hello, I've been running tests on my MD player in the past couple days, I just completed my fgrep (a file comparison utility, much like grep) program in Windows at least, and I am going to be posting test mp3s on http://students.washington.edu/youshi10/md_tests/ today as well. I am looking for people-ideally-with MZ-N505 models, because I plan poking at the OMG files first to see how they work and then send the data through the usb sniffer I have to figure out what exactly's going on. I have intended for these tests to either help develop 3rd party ATRAC conversion codecs-mostly for Linux, and this also may yield in drivers being improved for Windows, copyright protection being made optional, etc. I have reported, and will continue to report all findings to http://www.minidisct.com/forum/showthread....&threadid=16971 to avoid too much overlapping between the 2 bulletin boards. So far-like I've said on the other bulletin board-I've noticed that there is a pattern in terms of characters that seems too ordered to be random, so the encryption hash seems to be going towards something along the lines of a custom MD5 digest, or another digest based algorithm. I will test out information once I find the discrepancies in the OMG files, and see what occurs. Hopefully this will help startup the fervor again because it seems as if the OpenNMD project has died down somewhat (someone correct me if I'm wrong on that point). Cheers to all, Garrett
  3. Why not just run your CDDB as port 80? Port 80's a given for almost all firewalls (at least the good ones), because at least 1 outgoing port is required, and port 80 (http) is the best one. Otherwise, just petition for port 888 to be opened up .
