Thanks for replying. In order to be able to transfer digitally, I'd have to have an MD w/ optical out, correct? Which would preclude me from getting a portable.... I think I can live w/ that. Any reccomendations on a Sony model given that this is what I mostly want to do w/ it? Thanks again.

I'm going to buy an MD player. I want to be able to record from sources...fourtrack, stereo.....and be able to also convert MDs to mp3 or such on my computer. If an MD player has a line in and line out, I can do all this, yes? Thank you for your help and for the quality info on the forum.
