Blecch...SonicStage is a big pile of poop. Maybe I'm a little jaded, but when I bought my first MD unit (an MZ-S1) a couple years ago, any excitement I was feeling was busted to smithereens by Sony's awful, awful software. I only recently managed to get both SonicStage and SimpleBurner running properly - my previous attempts to run those application on FIVE different machines (all running XP) were unsuccessful. I realise that things have been improved quite a bit, but I wonder how many people had already thrown up their hands in despair and chucked it over a cliff? If the current version of SonicStage had been the first version, things would probably be a lot different now...

I'm trying to find an appropriate TOSLINK module, but searching this forum and googling for GP1FA551TZ hasn't turned up anything useful (google just produces a laundry list of places that deal in bulk parts). Any advice as to where I should be shopping? Edit - duh...I re-read the instructions, and realised that that Digi-Key is a parts retailer that sells to end users.

Easier to find and cheaper than the Novus polish is Meguiar's PlastX (about $6), which is available at auto parts stores. Apply with a Dremel tool using one of the felt buffing tips like a #422. Using this stuff with the Dremel allows you to polish out even major scratches, and the results are pretty impressive. I've used it on plastic watch crystals and on some iPods with great results.

I've installed Simple Burner on a couple different systems, both running WindowsXP, and *neither* one will run the program...it instantly crashes as soon as I launch it. So currently, the only machine I've got that will run Simple Burner is an old junky eMachines box. Does anybody else have this problem with Simple Burner? I emailed Sony and got a response that had nothing to do with Simple Burner...it only mentioned Sonic Stage. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
