  1. > well European models of the NetMD units are capped at around 2mW RMS per channel output as compared to the 5mW RMS units released everywhere else...it was done to keep in line with Europe's regulations so if u did buy it in Europe then this is low volume level expected... I bought a sony MZ-N710 around Christmas time; unfortunately the headphones output is only 1.2mW which is completely inadequate for listening to music with a large dynamic range (choral etc) when there is any background noise. I bought my MD player mainly to use when travelling by train, but it's completely useless for that as you just can't hear the quiet bits. I was thinking of getting one of the new Hi-MD Walkmans. Is the headphones output capped on these models as well? Thanks to anyone who can advise me on this. Cheers, Ben
  2. Hi, I'm really disappointed in the low sound output from my new MZ-N710. Its OK for some pop music, but when listening to classical/choral stuff you just can't hear the quiet bits whilst on the train. Looking at some alternative earphones on Sony's website, the MDREX71SLB model state: "Closed inner ear type, 80% more powerful than other Sony Fontopia models". Would these make any difference? I've tried the trick of setting each band of the graphic equaliser to max but it causes some distrotion during the loud bits. Cheers, Ben
  3. Hi, Does anyone know of any software which can be used purely for labelling MD albums/tracks from the PC (MD connected with USB lead). I want to enter all text manually from the keyboard. Cheers Ben
  4. Hi, I have recently acquired a Net MD Walkman and am interested in using it to record a weekly choral broadcast from my DAB radio. I am able to use the Optical cable to connect the two devices. Will I achieve a higher quality recording with the MD set to SP recording mode rather than LP2 recording mode? Also, is it possible to adjust the recording level when making a digital recording or is it fixed? Cheers, Ben
