Hi Rich, got great taste in music,, I'd be willing to trade a couple of 80 minute reformatted, as I don't have any 1 gigs at this point, I've got lots of trance(Dream Dance various volumes, Shamen Hempsted Manor, lots of Tangerine Dream, Tomita etc.) Let me know what your interested in, don't specifically have a lot on your list, but I do have a lot. Take care, Bob

"unlike the rh1, which cannot function at all as a player" ??????????? Of Course the RH1 can function as a player, it is assinine to think otherwise. From what I see it should work quite well in both regards. As the unit will spend most of it's time in a pocket or pouch, the display is moot, get a good remote, and get ready to enjoy your music. Saying that it won't function as a player is the same as saying I can get to point A in my Cherokee, but I need my Pajero to get hom. Just doesn't work that way. Hope my rant doesn't offend, Get the best you can afford, and you will like it. All the units have plusses and minuses, weigh your needs and make a choice Bob

Hi and again welcome. I have used an inexpensive Sharp headphone that has quite good sound. Try searching Amazon when you purchase your unit, and see what they have for headphones, you should be able to get something decent for $30 to $50. Enjoy your toy, Bob

Amen to that, I don't see the need to go better that what I have got (XP Pro, 512 ram no service packs, selected MX updates) Next system will be with XP as well, and will be doing more with Linux. just my $.02 Bob

S-stage help....does not support specified file format?
bobt replied to kottketune14's topic in Software
Try burning the songs to CD and use simple Burner to put them on Minidisc. Good luck, Bob -
Have you tried the latest winamp, does all I need a mm viewer, music player, etc to do, and it isn't windoze, or subject to all the windoze vulnerabilities. JMHO Bob

MZ-RH910 flashing no disc even when disc is inserted!
bobt replied to minister_bob's topic in Minidisc
Hi There, Have you tried taking the battery out for a bit and reinserting? Try another disc as well. Good luck, Bob BTW, May be urelated, but one of my NH1's did something similar, ended up being an optical unit, repaired under warranty for the part. Try the battery first, -
Wow, that's beautiful Rich, thanks for the post, Bob

Hints: How to Control Your Levels and Make Undistorted Recordings
bobt replied to dex Otaku's topic in Live Recording
Great addition Dex, as someone who has done a lot of recording, your points have much merit. Getting used to digital recording does take getting used to if you are used to analog, (reel to reel, etc), as they tended to be more forgiving of minor level mishaps, and most had good level guages and easily adjustable level controls to correct mistakes on the go. Keep it up, Bob -
Can you send a couple of pictures of the unit, somebody should be able to help with a picture, although not being rocket surgery you should be able to figure out what most of the buttons do by just pressing them and seeing what happens. I also believe in the archives there was somebody who had manuals for sale. Also, have you looked on the home page under manuals, may be something ther. Good luck, and welcome to the forums, Bob

You must be brave asking someone to post to an unknown site after all the board has been through this last week or so. We need more than a link, give us some screen shots to see what you have. Bob

Would sure be nice if people would do even a little research before posting. This topic has been asked sooooooo many times Bob

Not totally familiar with BSD, but all I can think of is an emulator under BSD that makes it think it's windoze, and SS in the emulator. Good luck, Bob

One of the greatest benefits of MD is Low Cost of media. 80 or 74 minute discs are dirt cheap, and 1 gig can be found very cheap if you shop around. What is a 1 gig flash disc worth? Plus, look at the size of the RH1 compared to the Edirol. Don't want to start a war of fromats, but for what you need, virtually any hi end MD should do you well, also check minidisc access for some of their first generation bundles. Good night and good luck, Bob

Just add all of our prayers to the unfortunate people in RI, loss is tough, TTFN Bob

Just a thought, haven't tried it myself, but with several a/c adapters around, you could wire up your batteries for six volts, and feed it via plug into the cradle of the NH1. A little bulky, but might work, other alternative is to find the pinouts on the NH1 USB cable and feed into that. TTFN, Bob

Ripping (nonHi) MD to Computer
bobt replied to Street_Samurai's topic in Technical, Tips, and Tricks
Well said Volta, I think you caught all our sentiments on that last post. Some people shouldn't be allowed near technology. Take care all, Bob -
I'm running a "legit" copy of XP=Pro, with only selected upgrades and no service pacs, so I would go no-deal. I don't like the idea that windoze can tell me what upgrades I have yp get, let me as an intelligent adult make the choice of what upgrades I want. I don't use IE oe outlook which 99.9823526 % of the updates are for anyway so what!! As for the people who have a so so copy, so so what, let ososoft bring out a resonably priced os with reasonable capabilities that people can tailer to their expertise levels, and all will be well. kind of sounds like linux, no! so much for this rant be good, Bob

You shoud have 3.4 for all the improvements. What I have done with problem child downloads is to burn them to a cd and simpleburn them to MD. Alternatively you can line out from your computer to line in on the 707. Good luck, Bob

Hi There, PM me, I've got a 240V charger I got with my NH1, give me details, I'll get it to you, Bob
-
You attach one end of your cables to the line out (or output) of your PLAY deckn and your other end of the patch cord to the line in ( Or input) of your record deck, press play on the play deck, and record on your record deck, and you're in business. Try a couple of sample recordings first to get the feel, soon you'll be a pro. Goog luck, Bob

"sidecar" is what I've seen a few people on the forum call the external battery pack. Definately don't mean the motorcycle variety. ttfn Bob
