Thanks for the reply Jadeclaw. I can live without the audio but it bugs me that , instead of performing the function, BEATJAM would have said "CAN NOT DO THIS!".. Instead, it just sucked all the audio out of the MD. See, many of the audio clips were created ON THE PC, so I thought they could be uploaded. I have learned a lesson today. steve

I wasn't thinking when I tried to UPLOAD sound clips from my Sharp 420 MD into my PC using the USB. Instead of an error message, it went through the motions like it was downloading, but when I didn't see anything in the library, I knew it was gone. Does it store it on the hard drive anywhere? Can i retrieve it? steve

Does a MD record from it's AM FM radio? Can you program it to begin at specific time? steve

thanks for welcoming me to this useful forum. I would like to spend about $200-$250 on the unit, and I will need a microphone, of course. My goal is to keep bells and whistles to a minimum. I would also want a unit that operates on a 'AA' battery. steve

Question - will you want to put the recordings onto the computer in an easy high-speed manner? yes, I will be transferring to PC so I can listen to recordings at home. Possibly make a CD to listen in car. thanks steve

Does anybody make a minidisc recorder that will record field interviews and occasional music performances? I won't be recording CDs on my MD, I'll just be recording people and sounds. Thanks for website. Steve
