I have been waiting for Hi-MD a year in advance before the 1st gens came out, had a MZ-NH1 on order but then had to cancel for financial reasons. Now that the 2nd gen has been out and the 3rd gen a distant possibility, should I buy a Hi-MD unit now at market price or wait for the announcement and hope for a price drop in the near future? Or will Hi-MD unit prices remain the same regardless of Hi-MD's future? Thoughts and opinions please

One word of warning however, I tried to research the company to see their ratings but couldn't find any on resellerratings or bizrate, and found one bad review for it on another forum. A word to the wise... but you can't beat 320 shipped!

I was into MDs back in the day when I owned a Aiwa AM-F70, but fell off with the introduction of newer models and Net-MD so I'm sorry if this sounds like a newbie question but... With Sonicstage is it not possible to convert my mp3 library to Hi-MD format at high speed or will I have to ghetto rig it? (create a playlist and record through line-in at real time?) Thanks

This may sound like a newbie question but.... Does the bitrate of the MP3 matter when converting to atrac? Or put in another way, When uncompressed, will all bitrate MP3s have the same sound quality? And finally, What bitrate will represent the closest analog to PCM quality? (320?)
