  1. Hi Nitan, It was my post that I think you are referring to. I am using SonicStage 2.0, so earlier versions might be different. When I installed it, I was asked which file types I wanted associated with SonicStage 2.0. Since I didn't want it messing with other program/file associations, I only selected .omg files. I was also unable to convert any files to ATRAC. My conversion problems were solved when I set defaults for .mp3 and .omg files in SonicStage. This was under: Tools-->Options-->General-->Select File Types, and then select the appropriate files. It seems dumb that it wouldn't work without doing this...poor software design. But it works now, and I happy with it. -Jef Leppard
  2. I have the SAME problem, and I have tried RealPlayer v10. I used to have great success with RP v10, but I started to get a 7% transfer error (the transfer would stop after 7%). So I uninstalled everything...RealPlayer, SonicStage, OpenMG, etc....anything that Sony would have ever touched. I also deleted all registry keys associationed with any of these programs. Deleted the directories, uninstalled drivers. Installed SonicStage 2.0 hoping for success, but I now cannot convert any files. MP3's and Wav's will not convert to any ATRAC format. This happens through the "Transfer" button or the convert option in the menu. No matter what, I get the following error: "Cannot convert the specified track. SonicStage does not support the file format of the track." This seems like a software issue, not hardware. I've tried everything I know, but nothing has helped. I have searched this forum and others extensively, but I have found nothing. Anyone? I am about to discard this thing and get a MP3 player (when I $ave up enough money ). Yours truly, Jef Leppard ______________________________________________ UPDATE!!! I don't want to jinx it, but everything is working fine now. The only thing that I did was set SonicStage to the default player for mp3 and wav. I generally don't like programs taking over file associations, but I guess I can let this one slide if it lets me make music portable. Maybe this will help someone. Oh, and thanks for all the pointers I have received on this great board!
