This is my first posting to the Forum...glad I found you!
I've had a Sony MZ-N510 since last October and really love it's quality and versatility, except when it comes to the process of transferring music via NetMD.
Problem #1-I tried using SimpleBurner, but found the results to sound "gritty," so I moved to SonicStage. I don't mind the program iteslf in terms of user-friendliness, but have never had an error-free transfer of music. Last night, for instance, I tried transferring music from a live CD (didn't want gaps in sound...see below), and found that, although everything on the computer showed a correct transfer, intermitent LOUD bursts of whte noise are present...and the key word is LOUD! If I check-in a corrupted track and re-check-out again it usually fixes the problem, but sifting through a 2 1/2 hour recording waiting for a loud error is no fun, not to mention the time it takes to re-check-in/out!
Problem #2 relates, in some ways, to problem #1. Since I've had so many problems with SimpleBurner, I've begun using RealPlayer (the free version), which has worked flawlessly, but I can't/don't know how to get rid of the 1-2 second gap between tracks. I see, in their literature, that the full (purchased) version allows for the gap to be "turned off" when burning a CD...can it also be turned off in transferring tracks to MD?
Any help/insight is greatly appreciated!
Eric
